Copyright is a strange topic; the rules and things that people copyright can be very strange and sometimes don’t make any sense at all when they own it, whether it be a colour name or even a phrase. When it comes to publishers, copywriting their work makes complete sense, as it is the work that they created, and they wouldn’t want people taking their work and posting it elsewhere and profiting off of it. But what is stopping someone from taking someone elses work, writing it in their own way and citing their source? This is why I don’t understand copyright and once something enters the public domain, everyone can just take it and do whatever they want and profit off of it I assume this is the reason why there are so many bad horror movies about popular characters like Winnie the Pooh. In my opinion, the copyright system is a very flawed system and can be exploited very easily.
